About this Prize

The Bridge Art Prize 2025 (The Bridge) is an exciting new community collaboration between Derwent  Valley Arts, McConnell Dowell, and its business partners working on the New Bridgewater Bridge.
With a prize pool exceeding $36,000, and an acquisitive main prize of $25,000, The Bridge will be open to entries from across Tasmania from Wednesday evening 2 October 2024.
The Bridge aims to celebrate and commemorate the construction of Tasmania’s largest ever  transport infrastructure project through local creative expressions of what "the bridge" means to Tasmanians.
We are asking Tasmanians to explore their relationship with “the bridge”, directly or indirectly, using  a range of media including photography, painting, printmaking, graffiti, poetry, videography,  animation, music, ceramics, textiles, and sculpture.
What does "the bridge" mean to you?
Equally important is The Bridge’s aim to raise funds for youth art programs where experienced artists  will work with youth who have arts-based aspirations, along with a perpetual fund for future prizes.
